Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique blend. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even at the Democratic National Convention. Her real name is Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B musical scene. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for a position as choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
